Pricing FiveM scripts without guessing
Price FiveM scripts sensibly: what buyers compare, cost-based and value-based pricing, escrowed vs open-source tiers, bundles and discounts, launch pricing, subscriptions, framework support and support costs, and mistakes that cost sellers money.
Overview
Most new sellers either underprice (and drown in support for a few dollars a sale) or copy the price of a famous script they cannot yet match. A small framework — what it replaces, what it costs you to support, what buyers compare it to — gets you a price you can defend.
What decides the price
| Factor | Pushes price |
|---|---|
| Size and depth (a full job system vs a small utility) | Up |
| Frameworks supported (ESX, QBCore, Qbox, standalone) | Up — bigger audience and more value |
| Polished NUI and good performance | Up |
| Free alternatives that are good enough | Down |
| Documentation and fast support | Up (and fewer refunds) |
| Source access (open source) | Up |
A simple method
- List 3–5 comparable scripts and their prices and reviews.
- Place yours honestly: better, similar or simpler.
- Estimate support minutes per sale and make sure the price covers them.
- Set an escrowed price and an open-source price (commonly a clear multiple of the escrowed one).
- Sell for a few weeks, then adjust based on conversion and support load.
Rough price bands
On Tebex stores, small utilities often sell for single-digit to low double-digit prices, full systems (jobs, housing, phones, inventories) for considerably more, and open-source licences for a multiple of the escrowed price. Use these only as orientation — your comparables matter more than any general range.
Tactics that work
- Bundles of related scripts at a discount.
- Launch pricing for the first week, announced with its end date.
- Free lite versions that link to the full product.
- Subscriptions only for things with ongoing value (updates, hosted services) — escrow supports subscription assets.
Mistakes to avoid
- Permanent “90% off” sales — buyers learn to wait.
- Pricing so low that support is unaffordable.
- Charging extra for basic bug fixes.
- Changing prices without telling your community.
Selling setup: Tebex and escrow.
Frequently asked questions
How much should I charge for a FiveM script?
Compare it with similar scripts, adjust for quality and support, and make sure the price covers the support each sale creates.
Should open-source versions cost more?
Usually yes. Source access lets buyers modify and learn from your work, which is worth more.
Do discounts help?
Time-limited launch discounts and bundles help; constant discounts train buyers to wait.
Can I sell subscriptions?
Yes, escrowed assets can require a subscription; they stop working when it ends.

- BusinessSelling your FiveM scripts through TebexCreate a Tebex account, complete identity verification, make a project and link your Cfx.re account. Upload your zipped resource to the Cfx.re Portal to escrow it, then create a Tebex package that delivers that “FiveM Asset”. Buyers get it in their Portal account and it runs on servers they own. Escrowed assets can only be distributed through Tebex. Add a clear description, a video preview, documentation and a support channel before launch.
- BusinessAsset escrow: protecting and buying FiveM resourcesAsset escrow encrypts Lua, YFT, YDD and YDR files uploaded to the Cfx.re Portal and delivers them through Tebex. An escrowed resource only starts on servers whose owner holds the entitlement; otherwise the console shows “You lack the required entitlement”. Sellers leave config files editable with escrow_ignore. NUI files are not encrypted. Re-uploading replaces the version on the seller’s account, and subscription assets stop working when the subscription ends.
- BusinessA portfolio that wins FiveM workShow five or six of your best finished pieces with short in-game videos, link clean open-source samples on GitHub, and write brief case studies (problem, solution, result, resmon numbers). State your stack (Lua, ox_lib, frameworks, NUI), services and availability clearly, add testimonials from real clients, and keep contact one click away.
- BusinessWorking as a freelance FiveM developerBefore starting, agree in writing on the scope (features, frameworks, what is not included), price and milestones, a deposit, delivery format (open source or escrowed), who owns the code afterwards, how many revisions are included, the support period and confidentiality. Work on a test server, not the client’s live one, and deliver in milestones. This is practical guidance, not legal advice.
